“Sit.”

After my shot the other day, they asked me to sit for 15 minutes, so they could observe me.

So I sat.

I sat, cross-legged on the floor, closed my eyes, in the midst of all the other people around me, and remained still and silent.

It took a minute to tune out the background noise and bright lights, but, after that, it was very peaceful.

I knew that everyone else around me, at least at first, probably thought that was pretty weird.

But, when you think about it, I did exactly what they asked me to do.

And why is that so weird, to meditate right in a public place?

Why is it so hard to be still for 15 minutes? Why do most people feel as if they always have to be doing or checking something?

It’s not, and you don’t.

You can sit still anywhere, anytime.
