Virtual reality isn’t new.
In fact, it’s been around for thousands of years.
Ever since we started using our imaginations.
Ever since we started planning, fearing, and regretting.
And of course, more and more recently.
But not by means of any electronic device.
No, whenever you & I worry about the future, or playback what has happened in the past, we are creating a ‘virtual reality’ in our head, because in fact, neither that imagined future nor recalled past is actually happening in reality right now.
Past events will never happen again, and imagined futures are imagined. (They rarely come to pass exactly as we imagine them.)
Now, the ability to think about the future and past is very helpful.
But only to a point.
You can’t live there.
You live here, now, in actual reality.
