There Are No Cheap Checkmates

In chess, there are no ‘cheap’ checkmates.

If you sacrifice your Queen (the most powerful piece) in order to capture your opponent’s King (the objective) with one lowly Pawn (the weakest piece) and some good positioning, then you win (which is called Checkmate).

Checkmate is Checkmate, no matter how you accomplish it.

What’s the real-life analogy?

Excluding poor ethics (which are not possible within the confines of a chessboard), in some projects, all that matters is the result.

It may not matter at all how you accomplish it.

Look for alternate paths, especially if you’re getting stuck or delayed.
