Incremental Change

Last week I completed Precision Nutrition’s Level 1 Certification program.

I worked through 3 textbooks and 20 chapters of the world’s best nutrition information.

It took me more than one year to complete.

I was not in a rush; I wanted to really absorb and practice the material by coaching it.

I took diligent notes in pencil, because for me, handwriting greatly reinforces retainment.

I budgeted an average of 15 minutes per day for study time.

Many days I skipped studying altogether for various life reasons, work or personal.

But, whenever possible, even if all I could do was read one page, that’s what I did.

On those days, even though I could have easily chosen something else to do, choosing to read the one page always ended up feeling like a big win.

I see examples like this over & over again in my life and in the lives of my clients.

Small, daily wins, repeated as often as possible over time, incrementally add up to transformative change.

This – incremental change – is one of the foundational principles in my online nutrition coaching group.

If you’re sick of being tempted by the quick fixes that don’t stick, check it out.
