The Hardest Nothing

The other day, smack in the middle of a busy day, I decided to meditate for ten minutes while I heated up my lunch.

The available time window was perfect – but I had plenty of messages to send, and calls to make.

I was already a bit behind schedule, and in jeopardy of not finishing everything I wanted to before I had to stop.

I felt the pull of the cellphone nearby me as I sat, practically yanking me out of my posture.

I didn’t give in.

After lunch, I felt so much more clarity & calm with regards to what I should do next.

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is …

… absolutely nothing.
