Most of the time when I sit down to meditate early in the morning I set a timer, because I have other things to do, and/or because I want to sit for a certain length of time at minimum.
However, sometimes when I sit down to meditate early in the morning, I intentionally do not set a timer, even though I still the same amount of other things to do, and I still feel the desire to sit for at least a significant amount of time (and not just get up after a minute or two).
You will always have other things to do.
You will always have goals which you want to accomplish.
You do not always have to rush to them, or focus on their quantity.
Sometimes, in fact, the highest quality action comes when you do it for no other reason than to do it, until it’s done, when it feels right.
