Remember ‘The Subway Diet’?
It’s a classic example of how misleading any popular dietary claim can be.
The notion that Jared Fogle lost 245 pounds because he ate lots of Subway sandwiches is a gross misrepresentation of the whole truth.
When we only focus on part of the truth, then we are essentially focusing on a falsehood.
Yes, the food that Jared ate was a part of his weight loss.
But it could have been practically any food better than what he was eating before (a 10,000 calorie per day diet of junk food) that would have helped him lose weight.
It’s the removal of the junk food that matters.
