When someone gets angry with us, it’s natural to get angry right back.
This is a bit like an animal displaying its feathers, mane, or tail … a ‘show of strength’.
However, this really is just ‘a show’.
It’s not real strength.
Real strength does not need to be displayed.
It only needs to be used.
Instead, with practice, you can bypass the natural urge to get angry back by asking yourself the question: “how can I support or help build this person up, right now?”
Choosing to take that action is real strength.
