When you meditate, sometimes it may feel as if ‘nothing is happening’; as if it’s not working, and no observable benefit is occurring.
Except, that’s exactly the point.
Nothing is happening.
Of course, for nothing to actually happen in your mind is very rare.
In the example above, your are having thoughts of doubt.
The other important point is that for the rest of your day, lots of things are happening.
You’re busy, running around, taking care of life’s obligations.
It’s only a few, important, short minutes each meditation during which the less that happens, the better.
