When’s the last time you got on the scale?
If even thinking about this question makes you uncomfortable, I’d like to point out a few things:
You are not alone, and you are not broken.
Whatever the reasons that you might be uncomfortable with your body or your weight right now, they serve a purpose.
When you are ready, you will begin to walk towards yours.
Some people I coach need to weigh themselves every day. Others don’t need to weigh themselves at all, and others are somewhere in between, such as weekly.
Another thing:
Your weight in pounds is NOT who you are, nor is ‘the’ measure of your health.
Some people are really healthy on the outside, but inside it’s a different story.
Furthermore, your body composition (muscle, water, visceral fat, etc.) along with many other numbers & data (DNA, food sensitivities, bloodwork, hormone levels) are all important to look at …
… and even with all of that, it’s still not the complete picture of ‘how healthy you are’.
Getting on the scale regularly is important ONLY IF it’s going to help you.
This is not automatically the case for everyone I coach.
Often, there’s plenty of good, important work we can do together without it.
