What are the odds that you would bump into that person you haven’t seen in so long, in such a random place?
Actually, they’re probably quite good, and a lot higher than you might think.
You simply weren’t expecting the outcome to occur, or, more accurately, you were expecting the outcome not to occur, which increases the feeling of surprise … which leads to the explanation that it’s some kind of magical coincidence.
It’s probably not.
The world is a lot smaller that we tend to think of it.
We travel in the same circles, to the same kinds of places, around the same kinds of people, at the same times, all the time.
Even those strangers you walk by all the time … are probably not nearly as strange or removed from you as you assume.
