I refer to Paul Chek often here on this blog. He’s one of my mentors, and his health & wellness teachings are profound.
Now, I don’t agree with everything he says.
So, whether or not you decide to listen to this entire 4 hour podcast, that’s up to you. I found it interesting, although I’m sure many would not.
However, at around the 53:00 minute mark, I jotted down this quote:
“There’s no such thing as a bad emotion. They all convey information about the experience we’re having.”
Paul Check
Emotions are an integral part of what makes us human.
To beat yourself up, to judge, to attempt to deny or suppress them …
… is to do the same to yourself.
Don’t deny your self.
Feel and express your emotions.
(As constructively as you can, of course.)
Those other tactics … they don’t really work anyway, because what happens to unexpressed or rejected emotions is …
… they keep coming back, sometimes with heavy consequences.
