I don’t mess around with my nutrition.
This means that:
- I read the ingredients labels of everything I buy.
- I think of food as an investment in my health, not as an expense.
- I look for certain attributes such as organic, biodynamic, etc.
- I make sure that any questionable ingredients are absent.
- I eat as wide a variety of meats, eggs, fish, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, fats, and whole grains as possible.
- I eat very few processed or refined foods.
- I cook 90% or more of my meals.
- I’m happy with not eating if the available choices are poor.
- I always travel with snacks that work for me.
- I eat when I’m hungry, not because it’s a certain time.
- I stop eating several hours before bedtime.
- I take a few supplements.
- I don’t eat foods that irritate my digestive system.
- I match the quantity and proportion of foods with my: activity level, seasonal cycles, and intuitive feelings.
- I occasionally take breaks from some foods that I love to eat regularly.
- Between 5 & 10% of the time, I happily give myself permission to slightly deviate from some of the above, without worry.
- I’m always open to testing new things.
That’s it.
It’s funny, when I started this blog post, I thought it would be just a short paragraph.
I may come back and revisit this list of 17 things again soon, to make sure it’s not missing anything, not repetitive, and in the best order.
If you’re just beginning your health journey, #1 is all you need to get started. That’s a game-changer right there.
It’s worth noting that all of these are completely free.
Good luck!
