The point of life is here and now; it’s not later.
It’s not to ‘suffer and be miserable now’ so that we can enjoy some mythical ‘retired life’ or even afterlife.
It is life that we’re supposed to experience, right now, in this moment.
This one – not another one.
Of course not every waking moment feels, or will always be a moment of ecstasy – but that’s not the point either.
It is a journey, it is supposed to have ups and downs.
However, we should not create additional or prolonged periods of ‘downs now’ in the hope that ‘later will be up’.
It won’t.
Later will be up and down.
Just like now.
Unless we miss it.
