“Anger is a gift.”

There’s a short line in the Rage Against The Machine song ‘Freedom‘ where Zack whispers ‘anger is a gift’.

I tend to agree that it is, it’s just that we, perhaps, don’t unwrap the present often enough.

If redirected constructively and compassionately, the energy that anger fuels can be used to drive great change, in any situation, be it personal, professional, or otherwise.

However, if you’re just going to yell and scream (or worse), then you become your anger, rather than the observer of it.

The gift isn’t the anger itself, it’s what lies beneath it or after it. It’s in what you do with it.
