I heard Tara Brach speak about how ‘thoughts are like clouds’ in a guided meditation the other day.
They can be thick and dense, covering everything, with no glimpse of clear sky in sight.
They can be thin and wafting, like a fog or a mist, drifting in and out of your mind.
But when they are allowed to pass, what’s left?
If thoughts are like clouds, what does the clear blue sky represent?
It represents you.
You are not your thoughts.
You are what remains after they are gone.
