I can’t say that every moment of every day for me feels fantastic.
At least, not yet. I’ve got some work to do in that area.
But I can honestly say that most do.
This surprises some people, and for some, it is even bothersome, annoying, or perhaps brings up feelings of anger.
Well, I wish it didn’t, but, it’s true. It not some ‘fake fantastic-ness’.
Here’s the thing: I know I’m not alone in this outlook.
Here’s a quote from David Foster Wallace’s famous speech (also now a book in print) This Is Water:
“It will actually be within your power to experience a crowded, hot, slow consumer-hell-type situation as not only meaningful, but sacred, on fire with the same force that lit the stars – compassion, love, the subsurface unity of all things.”

It’s a choice. A mindset that we all choose to adopt, or not.
Sometimes I choose not to, and instead to allow myself to be angry or frustrated for a bit.
I do my best to make that choice consciously.
It’s when we make that choice unconsciously that we’re in trouble.
