“Sharpen the saw.”

That’s not my phrase; all credit goes to Steven R. Covey.

Here is yesterday’s daily reflection from his book “Daily Reflections for Highly Effective People“, which, of course, can be read on any day:

“The single most powerful investment we can ever make in life is investment in ourselves, in the only instrument we have with which to deal with life and to contribute. We are the instruments of our own performance, and to be effective, we need to recognize the importance of taking time to regularly sharpen the saw.” – December 14th.

So then, that course you’re considering enrolling it, or that time you’re struggling to find to write that book, or even that slightly more ‘expensive’ organic food that you’ve been shying away from …

… none of those are expenses.

They are investments …

… in yourself.
