When it comes to balance, I’m pretty good.
I pay mindful attention to balance in several key areas of my life. The most common/obvious is ‘work versus personal’ or ‘work versus family’ but, I prefer the 7 that Gary Keller outlines in The One Thing:
- Spiritual Life
- Physical Health
- Personal Life
- Key Relationships
Now, here’s the thing. Sometimes, things get out of balance, no matter how hard you work at it.
So, in my opinion, one must also be able to recognize that and go very unbalanced for a short time in order to extinguish that problem and restore balance to your life.
So, that will mean different things for different people, but, if you have a pile up of ‘things to do’ in one area, or, haven’t addressed another, consider dedicating (a half a day, a whole day, a whole weekend) to cleaning that up.
You might feel a lot better afterwards.
