The one constant in life is that life is not constant.
If you really meditate on that a bit, you’ll notice a few things.
First, life is a constant flow of waves, of ups and downs, and while many of these are joyous, many are painful.
Second, there is nothing you can do to stop this flow.
Third, there is a tremendous opportunity, an infinite range of possibility, within your control, and that is ‘how you will swim’.
Sure, thrashing in anger, waiting for rescue, or drowning in pity, are options.
But so are learning to swim and float with grace, as well as building a boat, and pulling others out of the water. Or even better, teaching them to build their own boats.
