Sometimes the thought of sitting down to meditate for ten minutes is painful, because you’ve got so much else to do. How could you stop and just sit still, doing nothing, for ten minutes right now?
Sometimes it’s extremely difficult during the meditation to finish, or not to focus getting up and going to do … all of the other things you want or need to do.
But the truth is that meditation is, as Hugh Jackman says, one of those things that you need to do, just like your daily shower is.
Making a few minutes to pay attention to nothing, to breathe, to be still, to clear your mind, to visualize something important, to take good mental care of yourself … that’s not something you want to skip.
