I have a colleague that I respect who always says that “perfect is the enemy of good.”
Oh, this couldn’t be more true.
If you’re going to ship something out into the world, it’s not going to be perfect.
If anything, it will be perfectly imperfect.
That means: good enough for now. You’ve given it your best, but you’re not going to delay or procrastinate. You might be able to make it better later, or next time, but for now, this is what’s being offered.
It’s a little scary to share something that’s imperfect, but isn’t is even scarier to look back on your life five, ten, twenty, or more years from now, and regret never having shared with us at all?
