As a Health Coach who walks and talks the message of health as proudly as possible, here’s something that is commonly misperceived about me: I like cookies.
I like cookies, cake, ice-cream, dark chocolate, pasta, late-night movies, and watching TV.
Now, how often I indulge in those things, and, what versions of those things, may be very different from your answers, but I still to indulge in them.
Yes, I may use different ingredients than you do, so that when I do eat cookies, they’re rather healthy, as compared to many other options.
And yes, I watch far, far less TV than most people. But I do still occasionally watch it.
I like all of those things, and, I could probably make a longer list too.
I just like certain other things, such as how my brain, body, and soul feel when I curb those indulges as described, more.
It’s not so easy to break free of doing what feels good right now, especially if you’ve been doing it for a long time.
However, I can promise you that it is possible to have both: the long-term satisfaction of what feels even better than a cookie (your good health), and also the sweet satisfaction of what feels good right now (a cookie).
This is a classic case of ‘less is more’; the less often you have that cookie, whatever your cookie is, the more you’ll enjoy it.
