The ability to tell ourselves stories was one of the keys to our evolution into the dominant animal species on Earth.
It was through stories that random tribes began to work together and use grow skills such as cooperation and imagination. This led the solving of interesting and difficult problems. (You can read more about that here.)
I bring this up to you today because you and I walk around all day telling ourselves stories about … everything.
It runs so deeply into our psychology that we’re not even aware of it. It is how we make sense of the world.
This is not a bad thing … unless those stories do no serve who we are meant to become.
And, unfortunately, in this modern era, there are many stories out there that do not.
If you think that you can never become a dancer, then, you’re right – because you believe it.
On the other hand, if you believe that you can, then, you’re also right.
When you start to become aware of the stories that are limiting you, whether you created them yourself, or if someone else did, something magical happens …
… you can rewrite them.
