Training to be as strong as you can possibly be isn’t all fun and flowers.
Sometimes I need to go to a slightly darker place.
That’s why I enjoy training in my garage, alone, even in the sweltering heat and freezing cold.
I’ll zone in and let everything else go. I’ll tell myself that this bar is only going up, or that there is no way I am going to stop during this circuit, or that this sprint is not just a fifty yard dash … that my son’s life depends on it.
I’ve written many, many posts to you about my experience with darkness.
But from that experience also comes a connection to a source of power and motivation.
Darkness is associated with the word ‘bad’, but it doesn’t have to be.
Especially when you transform it by bringing it into the light.
