You know what makes you really strong?
It’s the boring stuff. Not the sexy stuff.
It’s not the TRX machine, the crazy Crossfit WOD that makes you puke, the Peloton, or the ShakeWeight.
It’s basic flexibility, mobility, and range of motion. It’s body-weight exercises like push-ups, pull-ups, and dips. And when you do add weights, it’s plain old squats, dead-lifts, and presses. It’s a lot of those things … a lot of hard work.
Couple all of that hard work with proper rest and nutrition, and you’ll be ready to tackle anything.
Gimmicks are shiny and attractive.
Boring is better.
(I’m fine with letting others think that my style of training is boring, because I know that it isn’t. Not only is it fun, but it gets results.)
