I meditate almost every day, but it doesn’t always go so well.
Some days I sit for a full ten minutes with my eyes closed, body still, and the time passes before I’ve even realized it.
Some days the thoughts & sensations of life strongly distract me throughout the session. I might not even have felt like I ‘had the time’ to sit in the first place. Or, perhaps I am on schedule, but I have a hard time focusing, keep my mind clear and body still.
Sometimes I’ll even cut a session a few minutes short if it’s not going well, or, wonder if the full session was even effective afterwards.
The truth is that all of the above is good.
I don’t want to get into a philosophical discussion about good and bad here.
The bottom line is that, when it comes to your Calm, your Spirituality (whatever that practice is for you), keeping a regular, daily practice is very important, even when it’s difficult.
So, even a ‘bad’ session is good for your overall health.
