“Where Should I Begin to Change My Health?”

It’s a scary time if you’re looking to improve your health. Where do you start?

You can Google it. You can try something that a friend on Facebook recommends. You can join a gym. You can order a book on Amazon Prime.

Any one of those might get you started down the right path. Or, it might not.

The sheer number of options makes it extremely difficult to determine which one is best for you.

There are many good ones, but there are many more questionable than good.

There is good news. Even though the number of ‘quick-fixes’ and fads is growing, so is the number of people spreading good, quality messages and products.

Yes, it’s a scary world of information out there. But after you’ve seen enough gimmicks, you can start identify them more quickly.

There are certain principles of a healthy diet, body, mind, and heart that hold true across all books, theories, and products. You’ll start to recognize those the more you educate yourself.

But where, exactly, should you begin to change your health?

The scariest place to look is not on any website, or in any book. It is in the mirror.

You need to start with ‘why’.

Why do you want to do this?

You may need to ask yourself this question several times, before you get to the truth.

But, as Joseph Campbell said, “The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek the most.”

Once you have firmly established your real reason for wanting to change, you will be able to find your way back on the path, even when various steps you take don’t work so well.

And that will happen – it’s not the case that everything you try will work.

But the truth about why you’re going to keep pushing forward will always be there.
