To follow up on yesterday’s idea that your dream is waiting for you to step towards it, let’s talk about hesitation.
Creativity is an important part of your health. But I don’t want you to think that it’s easy.
I’ve published 1,690 blog posts (at least) and counting and, I still hesitate at times, unsure of what to write to you today.
I’ve gone on many sales calls, and, I still get some butterflies.
Here’s the thing: that hesitation, that fear, is not supposed to go away.
In fact, it’s an signal that you’re in the right place.
If you are doing something new, then, by definition, you cannot be 100% sure if it’s going to work, or be accepted. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be new; it wouldn’t be truly creative.
So, how do you push through those butterflies? How do you conquer your fear?
I’ll give you a few tips:
- The more you dance with fear, the better dance partners you become.
- If you’ve truly put in the work, then you are good enough.
- If you’re solving a problem, then, we need your help.
- Start with the smallest possible audience at first.
If it might not work, then, it might be really good too.
The world doesn’t need more of the same. It needs more of you.
