One of the things that people who live to be old, health, and happy share in common is that they know how to relax.
These days, I’m not so sure how good we are at this.
This is one of the reasons I only train three days per week: flexibility.
We tend to overcrowd our schedules so that we are in a constant state of disappointment or pressure. But this is invented – by us.
Who told you that you had to go to the gym five or six days per week?
That kind of training schedule is appropriate for a high level, perhaps a professional athlete.
If you’re a working parent, you’ve got other commitments. Life is going to disrupt what you have planned, but that OK.
It may not be your life that’s out of balance; it may be what you have planned, and your expectations of meeting those plans.
Don’t overbook yourself. Life will bring you plenty of important things to do, naturally.
Enjoy them as they come.
