The place to begin with multivitamins is not with multivitamins.
It is with your diet. If you are eating a balanced diet, then you probably do not need a multivitamin.
If you are not eating a balanced diet, then you should balance your diet before you start paying for a multivitamin.
You can always do a dietary analysis, on your own, after balancing your diet, to determine if there are any vitamins and minerals which you may not be betting from your diet.
You can get bloodwork to confirm.
At that point, it may be the case that you need to supplement. That may be with just one, two, or a few individual supplements, rather than with a multivitamin.
If you choose to take a multivitamin before balancing your diet, be aware that multivitamins:
- Can never substitute for a well balanced diet
- Cost a lot of money over time
- May not provide sufficient quantities of the vitamins & minerals you seek
- Probably will not help you live longer.
