There have been several times in my life when it’s felt like the world was caving in on me from too much pressure.
Most of the time, that was related to work, but, you surely could be feeling that pressure from other areas. Finances, relationships, family … just to name a few.
In the past I didn’t always deal with those in the best way. Sometimes I would try to work harder & harder, to push through the situation. Other ‘no so effective’ strategies include avoidance or frustration.
For the past couple of years, I’ve been developing my level of awareness.
Awareness is simple and powerful tool that, today, allows me to work through the most high-pressure situations with ease.
“How does it work?”
First, it doesn’t magically remove all of the things which you have to do. What it does is, it helps you to see the truth.
The world is not actually caving in on you. You can get through this. It is not possible to finish everything right now. It is possible to focus on one thing, the most important thing, and, do that. There are things to delegate, ways to figure it out, and people who can help. And, some of the pressure that you are feeling is perceived.
It gets a bit more specific than that, but, I’ll save some space and talk more about this topic soon.
“How do I develop it?”
Through a daily mindfulness practice. I do ten minutes per day, but, even one or two is enough.
“I don’t think this is for me.”
That’s fine, it may not be for you right now. But I will tell you that you possess, inside of you, an enormous capacity to absorb pressure with ease. It’s been a part of your nature since the day you were born. You just need to tap into it.
