We all have things which make our heart race.
For me, it’s certain kinds of confrontations at work, mostly.
I’ve noticed that turning towards those things has two effects:
- They never turn out to be as big, bad, or scary as I thought they might have been when they came across my radar initially.
- Dealing with them promptly & directly makes the next one seem a little bit less scary than the previous one.
Of course, turning away has the opposite effect; it simply magnifies the illusion that you can’t tackle this.
