I’m often asked, ‘What caused (or started) you to become healthy?’
The answer is that I started to read.
It’s very important to notice that my first step, my first act in transforming from being 5’10, 220 LBS, grossly out of shape and unfit, into a far leaner, faster, stronger, and resilient body was not to pick up a weight, or sprint a quarter of a mile.
It was to pick up a book and read it.
Digging underneath that a bit more, we could say that the process of reading a book, taking it to heart, and actually implementing change recommended in that book begins with opening yourself up to the process.
