Your child’s soccer team patch on your backpack and your morning Facebook feed review are subscriptions.
Just like the ‘free’ ones you get with a click to read blogs by email, and the ‘pay’ ones that hit your credit card every month, like your cable bill.
(Actually, none of them are ‘free’ because you’ve traded something; your time, energy, attention, or space.)
All of that is fine. The question I have isn’t really about what you subscribe to, but why.
Your time is more important that your money.
If, deep down, a free subscription feels like an obligation, there’s no law that says you can’t cancel it.
