Replacing Trauma With Zeal

If I had to make it through worse times, would I have even more zeal for life than I do now?
I’m not sure, but you may possess something stronger than I.

Comparing experiences is not a game of one-upmanship, but it is what makes us who we are.

So you have a choice. If terrible things have happened to you, you have a long road ahead.

You’ll never be rid of the event(s), but you can make something useful out of them.

Letting go of the negative feelings associated with your trauma may be the hardest thing you’ll ever do. (Feelings such as fear, anger, and uncertainty.)

But once you can do that, you’ll be capable of so much more than you could have ever imagined.

I was out of the hospital, finished with therapy, and done with medication for more than five years – but I was still stuck in the past.

I was holding on to fear. Fear of talking about it. Fear of standing out. Fear of what others would say.

Now that’s gone, and, I’m never going to look back.
