An Excerpt For You

I promised that you would be the first to receive free copies of longer works which I am constructing. As that unfolds, I have an excerpt for you today. The work is far from unfinished; it’s untitled, unedited, and perhaps 25% complete. I welcome all feedback (good and bad.) Thank you for reading my blog every day!

Here’s a lie:

“How was school today?”
“Good.”
“How was your Science test?
“Easy.”

Here’s the truth:

“How was school today?”
“Good. In math class I had imaginary sex with Charlene while I stared at the top of her butt crack, and then I fantasized I took the class hostage with an assault rifle and blew about 20 peoples’ brains out.”
“How was your Science test?
“Easy.”

You may ask:

“Everyone has dark thoughts. Are you saying that, if we do not stream our consciousness out into the open at all times, we are lying?”

Yes. Concealment is lying. Not all lying leads to physical violence, thankfully, but it does lead to a pattern of lying. It becomes habitual; automatic. I think “Thought X” but share it with no one, out of fear. Fear of what others may think, or how they will react. Fairly quickly, I am sharing nothing. I am bottled up, but every bottle becomes full.
