I am strongly in favor of pushing boundaries & exploring edges – that’s what this blog is all about. The essence of “the edge” is to pursue our own limits to make our lives better – not to end them. Any act that risks the lives of other innocent people is shameful and offensive to that very idea.
Weaving a car or motorcycle at high speeds in & out of traffic on public roads does not qualify as “living on the edge” or “pushing life to the limit.” It’s completely stupid, not to mention illegal.
It is also completely stupid to drive distracted ( texting / dialing / emailing / eating / perhaps even just talking on blue-tooth, one could argue), impaired, & recklessly.
This leads me to two questions:
1) What can we do to make driving safer for everyone?
2) What does it mean to be a fan of vehicle racing or other similarly dangerous activities?
These two questions cannot be answered in one blog post. I will be revisiting them in future posts. For now, I’m just asking you to think about your own actions. If you were to end the life of another person while driving irresponsibly, what should your punishment be?
